Who can take part
- Be between 15 and 65 years old (or 2 to under 15 for the pediatric part).
- Be able to consent (or have a parent/guardian help for younger participants) and agree to a follow-up phone call at 14 days.
- If joining as a fever participant: you have a recent fever for 3–14 days without clear symptoms pointing to one specific cause, or you recently had enteric fever confirmed by a blood test.
- You may have had recent antibiotic medicines (this does not automatically rule you out).
- If joining as a non-fever control: you currently have no reported fever and your temperature is within normal range.
- You should not have certain conditions (like immune system diseases, active cancer, or active long-term infections) or be recently vaccinated/treated with antibiotics if you’re enrolling as a control.
