Who can take part

  • Your stroke started at least 6 months ago
  • You can understand and follow simple instructions (MMSE score above 21)
  • You have mild-to-moderate weakness in the affected leg with foot drop, but you can stand and walk without someone physically helping you
  • Your leg motor function score is low enough (Fugl-Meyer lower-limb score under 20)
  • You can walk at a high enough level for the study (Functional Ambulatory Category 4 or higher) and have good balance (Berg Balance Scale 40 or higher)
  • You do not have severe ankle stiffness/spasticity (Modified Ashworth score 3 or less)
