ROSE to improve lung cancer marker testing with a breathing scope

Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC)

This trial studies a quick scan method (called ROSE) during bronchoscopy to help doctors get the right lung cancer tissue and test cancer markers more accurately. If you are being evaluated for non-small cell lung cancer, the study may improve how well and how fast your samples can be tested.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 or older and can understand and sign consent to join
  • You have known or suspected non-small cell lung cancer
  • You are scheduled to see the interventional pulmonary team for tissue sampling of a lymph node or lesion using EBUS (a breathing scope)
  • You can have bronchoscopy/EBUS safely (for example, no major bleeding risk or current blood thinners that would block the procedure)
  • A cytology specialist is available at the time of screening and enrollment
