Who can take part
- Be age 40 or older (and age 50 or older if you have triple-negative breast cancer)
- Have early breast cancer or DCIS confirmed by biopsy (DCIS is non-invasive cancer)
- Have a small tumor: 3 cm or less, and it should be limited to the breast area
- Not have spread to distant organs (no stage IV metastatic breast cancer)
- Your underarm lymph nodes must be “not suspicious” on exam or ultrasound (or be checked with biopsy if needed)
- Be able to follow a diet plan and use English or Spanish to complete study steps
