Testing extra check-ins for Crohn’s using stool tests and MRI

This study checks whether adding an extra, cross-body “transmural” evaluation (looking at inflammation throughout the bowel) improves care for adults with Crohn’s who are starting or receiving biologic (biotherapy) treatment. It uses close follow-up with stool calprotectin (a marker of gut inflammation) to see if this approach helps control inflammation.

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and have Crohn’s disease
  • You currently have Crohn’s symptoms and your Crohn’s activity score is high (CDAI > 150)
  • Your stool test shows intestinal inflammation (fecal calprotectin > 250) and your MRI shows active inflammation
  • Your doctor believes you need biologic treatment (biotherapy) for Crohn’s
  • You can consent to take part, and you are covered by the Social Security system
