Using a special scan to find scar tissue in Crohn's disease

Who can take part

  • You have Crohn's disease that affects the last part of your small intestine (the ileum) or the area where a surgery was done before.
  • You are about to start a biologic medicine for your Crohn's disease.
  • You are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant.
  • You do not have very poor kidney function (eGFR under 30) or a known allergy to the contrast dye used in scans.
  • You can lie still in a scanner for the PET/MRI or PET/CT and do not have claustrophobia or a metal implant that prevents MRI.
