  • You are 18 years or older and can sign consent
  • Your screening blood test shows HSV-2 (genital herpes)
  • You had 6 to 12 genital herpes outbreaks in the past year
  • You have a new sore and can get to the clinic within 72 hours
  • You can keep a daily outbreak diary during the study
