7-tesla MRI for symptoms after a mild concussion

This study checks whether a stronger MRI scan (7-tesla) can help diagnose and better understand ongoing symptoms after a mild concussion. You would be scanned about 7 days after your injury to compare results with typical care.

Who can take part

  • You had a mild head injury with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 13–15 and you need a scan
  • You can have an MRI at about 7 days after your injury
  • You are able to travel to the MRI appointment around Day 7
  • You can give informed consent (and any legal decision-making support is allowed as part of the study process)
  • You do not have MRI-safety problems (for example, certain metal in the body or other MRI contraindications)
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding
