Who can take part
- You are a woman age 50 or older
- Your diagnosis is low- to intermediate-grade DCIS or invasive ductal carcinoma
- Your tumor is small (less than 2 cm for invasive cancer, less than 2.5 cm for DCIS)
- Your lymph nodes are clear (node negative) and the cancer is only in one place (unifocal)
- Your ER and/or PR are positive, and HER-2 is negative
- Your surgery margins are clear by a certain amount (over 2 mm for invasive cancer, over 3 mm for DCIS) and the lumpectomy cavity is under 30% of breast volume
