Neural Bases of Speech Perception

Who can take part

  • You were born and raised speaking only English (monolingual native English speaker)
  • You have no past or current neurological problems (like stroke, epilepsy, or other brain/nerve diseases)
  • You have no history of speech or language difficulties, based on a short language check
  • Your hearing is good: your hearing test must be at least “30 decibels” in both ears, with not much difference between ears
  • You are right-handed
  • You must be medically able to receive TMS (no key safety risks like seizures, certain metal in the skull, or pregnancy)
