Who can take part

  • You must have confirmed esophagogastric junction adenocarcinoma that is stage cT3-4a, has lymph node involvement (N+), and has no distant spread (M0)
  • You must be able to give signed consent and agree to share tumor tissue from a biopsy or surgery for PD-L1, EBV, and MSI testing
  • You must be age 18–75 and able to have the planned surgery (your health must allow abdominal and/or chest surgery)
  • Your blood counts and organ tests must be in safe ranges (for example, platelets and white blood cells must be high enough, and liver/kidney/clotting tests must be within limits)
  • You must have good general function (ECOG 0–1) and expected survival of at least 6 months
  • If you can become pregnant or are able to father a child, you must use effective birth control during treatment and for 6 months after the last dose
