Who can take part
- You have hepatitis B infection
- For the chronic hepatitis B group: your hepatitis B test (HBsAg) was positive for at least 1 year
- For the chronic hepatitis B group: your HBeAg status has been documented for at least the last 6 months
- For the chronic hepatitis B group: you are age 70 or younger
- For the chronic hepatitis B group: you do not have HIV or hepatitis C infection with detectable virus (RNA positive)
- For the chronic hepatitis B group: you do not have significant other liver diseases, cirrhosis, or past liver cancer
