Who can take part
- You must be having (or have already had) an internal hemipelvectomy at UT MD Anderson, with or without reconstruction.
- You must be age 18 or older.
- You cannot have had an external hindquarter amputation, or an isolated type III internal hemipelvectomy.
- If you are planning ahead, major hip surgery or injury in the last 2 years (or anything that may change hip pain or movement patterns) may make you ineligible.
- You cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You must be able to safely have an MRI—no pacemaker, certain implants, loose metal, aneurysm clips, or artificial heart valves.
- Early MRI images must not show fractures, SCFE, or other findings that don’t fit the study’s hip diagnosis focus.
