Who can take part

  • You have mitral valve disease causing either strong leakage (mitral regurgitation grade III or higher) and/or severe narrowing (mitral valve area 1.5 cm² or less).
  • Your heart pumping strength (left ventricle ejection fraction, or LVEF) is 30% or higher.
  • Your heart team believes a catheter-based valve treatment is more appropriate than open-heart surgery for you.
  • You have not had prior valve or related procedures that could interfere with placing the new valve or its function.
  • You do not currently need an emergency or urgent heart surgery.
