Who can take part

  • Your baby was born between 30 weeks and 36 weeks of pregnancy (30+0 to 35+6).
  • At the time of the study, your baby is at least 6 weeks old and has reached 37 weeks “post-menstrual age” (pregnancy age plus time since birth).
  • You (both parents) or your baby’s formal caregiver can legally sign consent for the study.
  • Your baby has not had a lower respiratory tract infection (a lung infection) before starting the study.
  • Your baby is not under 2.5 kg (about 5.5 lbs) and was not described as having delayed maturity (“dysmaturity”) at randomization.
  • There is no history of severe lung/heart/immune problems, and the baby is not known to be allergic to the study ingredients.
