Who can take part
- Be at least 16 years old
- Be in an ICU and have septic shock with low blood pressure despite fluids
- Need ongoing blood pressure medicines (vasopressors) at the time you join
- Start plasma exchange within 48 hours after starting vasopressors
- Have at least one other sign of new organ problems (kidney, breathing, blood counts, or blood chemistry)
