At-home brain stimulation trial for depression during pregnancy

Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older and currently pregnant with one baby (singleton pregnancy).
  • You are between 12 and the end of 32 weeks pregnant when you start the study.
  • You have a moderate-to-severe depressive episode during pregnancy, based on screening questions and an interview.
  • A study psychiatrist confirms you qualify and you were offered antidepressant medication but chose not to use it.
  • In the 4 weeks before starting, you did not start or change new depression treatments (talk therapy or medicines).
  • You don’t have certain safety or equipment-related issues (for example: bipolar or psychotic disorders, active substance use disorder, active suicidal thoughts, seizures/major unstable illness, or metal/electrical implants in the head).
