Who can take part

  • Be willing and able to sign the consent form
  • Have a body mass index (BMI) between 18 and 30
  • For the IBS group: have an IBS diagnosis that matches Rome IV criteria
  • Avoid having inflammatory bowel disease, celiac disease, or diabetes
  • Not be on a restrictive diet now, and be able to keep a stable diet during the study
  • Not have taken antibiotics in the past 4 weeks
