- Be 18 years or older.
- Have gum disease (periodontitis) with at least 20 deep gum pockets (over 4 mm) and at least 20 teeth (excluding wisdom teeth).
- Sign the study consent form willingly.
- Do not have major ongoing health problems like diabetes or heart, kidney, liver, or lung disease.
- Not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Haven’t taken pain medicines or antibiotics regularly in the last month.
- No major untreated tooth decay or badly missing/inadequate fillings.
- Not be allergic to any products used in the study.
- Not join any other clinical research study at the same time.
