Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You must have neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) as defined by standard medical criteria.
- You need a benign (not cancerous) neurofibroma that is painful and/or causes functional discomfort, and cannot be removed safely (or removal would cause unacceptable scarring).
- Your recent blood test should show neutrophils above 1 G/L within the last 14 days, and your blood clotting tests should be acceptable.
- You must not be on chemotherapy or targeted anti-cancer medicines during the trial.
- You need to be able to safely have MRI scans and a skin freezing procedure; also pregnancy and breastfeeding aren’t allowed.
