Who can take part
- You are an adult and able to understand the study and sign the consent form
- You have one-sided (unilateral) leg artery disease causing walking pain (Rutherford 2 or 3)
- Your artery blockage is in the thigh artery (superficial femoral artery) and is long (15–25 cm), classified as type C or D
- You are eligible for both treatments: bypass surgery and the endovascular procedure
- You can’t be pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could become pregnant you must use effective birth control during the study
- Blood flow in the artery above the blockage (iliac flow) must be normal or successfully restored, and at least one artery below the knee must still be open
