Stent versus bare-metal treatment for blocked leg arteries

Who can take part

  • You’re 18 or older and can sign the study consent form
  • Your leg artery blockage is in the common or external iliac artery, not just one simple common-iliac spot
  • Your blockage causes symptoms such as walking pain, pain at rest, or minor tissue damage
  • The blockage is complex: it’s longer (about 4 to 11 cm) and over 50% blocked or completely blocked
  • Your artery measurements fit the plan: target vessel is about 5 to 13 mm wide, and key downstream vessels are sufficiently open
