Who can take part
- You have confirmed head and neck squamous cell cancer in the mouth, throat, larynx, or food-pipe area, stage III or IVA, with no spread to distant organs
- Your cancer has at least one measurable tumor area that can be tracked on scans (not just “too small to measure”)
- You are age 18–70 and have not had prior treatment for this cancer (you are treatment-naive)
- You can do normal daily activities fairly well (ECOG performance status 0–1)
- Your kidney, liver, blood counts, and heart health are strong enough for chemo and immunotherapy (specific lab thresholds will be checked)
- If you can become pregnant, you must have a negative pregnancy test and use effective birth control; you cannot be pregnant or breastfeeding
