Who can take part
- You must be between 18 and 75 years old.
- Your cancer must be a type called squamous cell carcinoma, located in the mouth, throat, voice box, or windpipe, and at a certain stage (III, IV, or earlier HPV-related throat cancer).
- A surgeon must think your tumor can be removed with surgery, and you must not have signs that the cancer has spread to other parts of your body.
- You need to have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan.
- You should be generally well enough to do daily activities with little or no help (ECOG score 0 or 1).
- Your blood counts, liver, and kidney function must be within safe levels (you will have blood and urine tests to check).
