Testing two ways to fix a lower thigh bone fracture

Distal Femur Fracture

Part of Injuries & trauma clinical trials.

This trial studies whether using two implants works better than one to stabilize a break in the lower part of the thigh bone. It focuses on people who can get surgery quickly after arriving at the hospital and who can be followed for a full year.

Compare fixing vs replacing certain leg bone fractures in seniors

This trial studies which operation works better for an acute distal femur (upper knee area) fracture in older adults: repairing/fixing it versus replacing the joint/bone. It may help find the safest approach and improve walking and recovery for people in this situation.

Comparing two surgical implants for broken thigh bone

This study compares two different surgical implants (a special plate versus a plate with a rod) used to fix a broken bone just above the knee. The goal is to see which one works better for healing.

Compare fixing versus replacing a fractured thigh bone

This study looks at the best surgical option for an acute (new) fracture of the lower thigh bone near a stable knee replacement. It compares surgery that “fixes” the bone versus surgery that “replaces” part of the bone to help you walk again safely.

Knee fracture surgery: plates vs knee replacement for older adults

This trial compares two ways to treat certain lower-thigh (distal femur) fractures near the knee: using plates/screws or doing a knee replacement. It aims to see which option works better for recovery and long-term outcomes.

Comparing one versus two implants for thigh bone breaks

This trial is testing whether using two metal implants to fix a broken thigh bone (near the knee) works better than using just one. It aims to help patients with certain types of fractures that need surgery.
