Who can take part
- You’re 18 years or older and can sign consent to join
- You’re scheduled for a laparoscopic right hemicolectomy to remove a tumor
- Or you’re scheduled for sigmoid resection to remove polyps, diverticula, or a tumor
- You do not have inflammatory bowel disease
- You do not have a history of intestinal ischemia or major past abdominal surgery (appendectomy/hernia repair are usually okay)
