Who can take part

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • For hamstring strain: be an amateur soccer player or sprinter with regular training, and have a suspected mild hamstring (grade I or II) injury that stopped training.
  • For acute low back pain: pain must be between the lower ribs and the top of the buttocks, and happen on fewer than half of the days in the last 6 months with pain at least 6/10.
  • For chronic low back pain: low back pain must have happened on at least half of the days in the last 6 months, with pain at least 20% on the pain scale used in the study.
  • Avoid certain situations: no same-side hamstring injury in the last 6 months, no spinal fracture/inflammatory spine disease, and do not be pregnant (and avoid certain recent treatments/medicines).
