Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 70 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is between 22 and 30.
  • You have had low back pain (rating 6 or higher on a 0–10 pain scale) for 3 months or more that didn't improve with pain medicine or physical therapy.
  • You have pain from the facet joints on both sides at 2 to 3 levels in your lower back, confirmed by imaging, and your leg strength is normal.
  • You got at least 50% temporary pain relief from a test injection (medial branch block) guided by ultrasound.
