Blood test study to detect stomach cancer spread in the belly

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 74 when you sign consent.
  • You can sign written consent for the study.
  • You have a new stomach cancer diagnosis (or strong suspicion) tied to a diagnosis within 42 days around the blood draw.
  • You had a laparoscopy with cytology showing either belly lining spread (case group) or no belly lining spread (control group).
  • No prior cancer treatment before the blood sample (no surgery/radiation/chemo/other cancer treatment).
  • You can provide a blood sample that is sufficient for testing, and you are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
