Who can take part
- Be 18 to 65 years old
- Have a specific ankle fracture pattern: a Weber B side ankle fracture plus a posterior malleolus fracture of the Mason/Molly type 2A or 2B
- Your CT scan must show the back (posterior malleolus) fracture is at least 2 mm out of place
- The CT measurement must involve less than 40% of the fibular notch (as the study measures it)
- Be able to give written consent and agree to follow study rules
- Have a closed fracture (not open) and not have severe overall trauma (ISS must be 16 or less)
