Who can take part

  • Age 50 to 85 years old
  • You have dry age-related macular degeneration (not wet/active), at an early, intermediate, or intermediate-to-late stage
  • You do not have other eye diseases that would make retinal exams hard to interpret
  • You do not have a “research eye” with choroidal neovascularization (new abnormal blood vessel growth) or very high nearsightedness
  • You can safely complete follow-up visits (for example, no major memory or thinking problems that affect staying in the study)
