Study early lung problems after childhood cancer treatment

Pulmonary Dysfunction

This study looks for early lung (breathing) problems in children after certain cancer treatments, using lung tests and sometimes MRI scans. It may help doctors spot breathing complications earlier and guide better care.

Who can take part

  • You have had at least one cancer treatment that affected the chest, such as chest radiation, chemotherapy, stem cell transplant, or chest surgery
  • You can sign permission for your child to be added to the Childhood Cancer Registry
  • You (or your guardian) can provide signed informed consent for the study
  • If the study plans breathing tests, your child can breathe well enough for lung testing (oxygen saturation at least 92%, not on extra oxygen)
  • If the study plans MRI, your child can safely get an MRI without sedation and does not have metal like a pacemaker
