Who can take part

  • You have heart failure that is severe (NYHA class III) and were hospitalized for worsening heart function in the past year
  • You have severe kidney impairment for at least 3 months (a measured low kidney filtration rate)
  • Your heart’s right-side pressure assessment is concerning: your right-heart echo measure is low (TAPSE under 15 mm) and/or another measure is low (SDTI under 9.5 cm/s)
  • You have a wide enough blood vessel for the procedure: your pulmonary artery is over 7 mm (and no blood vessel is too small)
  • You must be able to give consent and tolerate the right-heart catheter procedure
