Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- You have atrial fibrillation that is either persistent or comes and goes (paroxysmal)
- You are planning a catheter ablation using radiofrequency, cryo (very cold), or pulsed field energy
- You do not have a known or suspected allergy to gadolinium dye used in some MRIs
- You can safely have an MRI (for example, not severely claustrophobic and no MRI-blocking implants/devices)
- You have not had prior treatment in the left atrium (no prior ablation or surgery)
