Who can take part

  • Be in the PICU and expected to need monitoring for at least the next 24 hours
  • Have had no recent heart (cardiac) or chest (thoracic) surgery
  • Have skin on the chest area where the patch would go that can safely be used (no skin problem that blocks the patch)
  • Have a parent or legal guardian who can give consent for the study
  • Allow study staff to be in the room as needed; if your child’s doctors think it wouldn’t be safe for your child, the study may not proceed
