Setting normal heart ultrasound ranges for newborns

Echocardiography

Part of Heart & circulation clinical trials.

This study measures echocardiogram (heart ultrasound) results in healthy newborn babies to help define “normal” ranges. It’s mainly for babies without serious heart or lung problems, and it can help improve how doctors interpret future newborn echocardiograms.

Heart ultrasound in sick newborns in the NICU

This study tests how using a heart ultrasound (echocardiography) can help doctors better manage care for very sick newborns in the NICU. It may help guide treatment for babies who are unstable, regardless of their weight or how early they were born.

Ultrasound to track baby heart function in heart disease

This study uses automated ultrasound measurements to track how a baby’s heart is working during pregnancy. It compares babies who have a specific congenital heart problem with babies without it, to understand what ultrasound can detect.
