You may be eligible if you’re hospitalized with ACS and are planned for a coronary angiogram and possible angioplasty soon.

Who can take part
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You’re currently hospitalized for acute coronary syndrome (ACS), usually with chest pain and a blood test showing heart injury (troponin above normal).
- A heart procedure called coronary angiography is planned during this hospital stay, with angioplasty expected soon.
- You must be able and willing to sign written informed consent.
- You’re not able to join if your ACS is an ST-elevation heart attack needing emergency angioplasty right away.
- You must not have certain heart/liver/kidney problems, serious drug interactions, pregnancy or breastfeeding, or known colchicine intolerance.
