Study testing IRE treatment for early prostate cancer

This study looks at whether a new type of procedure called IRE can treat certain MRI-visible prostate tumors in men with early-stage disease. You may be able to join if your cancer fits specific scan and biopsy features and you have not had prior prostate cancer treatment.

Who can take part

  • Be age 40 or older
  • Have a prostate lesion seen on MRI
  • Your cancer should be early and limited to one main area (not widespread)
  • Your PSA must be 20 or lower
  • Have not had prostate cancer treatment before (no surgery, radiation, chemo, or hormone therapy)
  • Be able to have an MRI safely (for example, no metal devices that block MRI; not too claustrophobic)
