Who can take part

  • You must have intermediate-risk prostate cancer (PSA between 10 and 20, or Gleason score of 7, or the tumor has spread to more than half of one side or both sides of the prostate).
  • You must be over 18 years old and in generally good health (able to perform daily activities without help).
  • Your prostate must be smaller than 90 cc (about the size of a small lemon).
  • You must have at least one visible tumor on MRI that is at least 0.5 cm and no more than two other suspicious spots.
  • You must not have had prior hormone therapy for prostate cancer, pelvic radiation, or certain other prostate procedures.
  • You must be able to safely undergo an MRI (no metal implants, pacemaker, claustrophobia, etc.) and fill out symptom questionnaires.
