Who can take part
- You are age 12 or older
- You were evaluated by Columbia University’s Shoulder, Elbow, and Sports Medicine team
- This was your first-time shoulder dislocation (front/“anterior” dislocation)
- You have not had previous surgery on the same shoulder
- Your shoulder does not have a large bone defect (more than 25% of the glenoid surface)
- There is no specific reason you cannot safely have general anesthesia
