Who can take part

  • You are age-eligible adult or pediatric and able to be enrolled in the study hospital ICU
  • You are hospitalized in an intensive care unit for a severe breathing problem needing oxygen
  • Your infection is influenza, RSV, or SARS-CoV-2 (COVID-19) diagnosed within the last 7 days by a test
  • Your oxygen need is high enough to keep oxygen saturation at least 90% (or child criteria like SpO2 below 92% on room air)
  • If you are immunosuppressed from certain recent treatments or conditions, you may be excluded
  • You must be at least 30 kg as an adult (or at least 3 kg as a child) and able to consent (no refusal)
