Who can take part

  • Your baby must be in the NICU (newborn intensive care unit).
  • Your baby must have a central venous catheter/central IV line.
  • If your baby only has a regular peripheral IV (like a hand/arm IV), they usually can’t join.
  • Your baby must not have an active inflammatory episode at the time of enrollment.
