Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older
- Your retina is detached and affects the macula (the central vision area)
- You have a certain type of scar tissue in the eye (called proliferative vitreoretinopathy, grade B)
- You have not had retinal detachment before
- You have not had any prior eye surgery except cataract surgery
- Your retinal detachment was not caused by an injury or a macular hole
- You do not have other macular diseases like diabetic maculopathy or age-related macular degeneration
