Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older
  • You are newly starting a thiazide or similar “water pill”
  • You can sign the study consent form and follow study steps
  • You have NOT taken a thiazide or similar “water pill” in the last month
  • Your baseline blood test does not show low sodium (sodium ≥ 135 mmol/L)
  • You do not have a serious infection/inflammation or an active symptomatic urine infection
