Who can take part

  • You are age 18 to 70 and able to follow the study plan
  • Your biopsy shows rectal adenocarcinoma (a specific type of rectal cancer)
  • Your cancer is early: T1 to T3b, with no lymph node spread (N0) and no distant spread
  • The tumor is small (less than 4 cm) and is close to the anus (within 5 cm)
  • Your tumor is microsatellite stable (MSS) / pMMR, not mismatch-repair deficient
  • You have not had prior cancer treatment or immunotherapy, and you can sign consent
