Who can take part
- Have a confirmed diagnosis of AML-M5 (acute monocytic leukemia), using specific lab classification or marker tests
- Be newly diagnosed and have not received prior chemotherapy or transplant treatment for this leukemia
- Be expected to live at least 12 weeks and be judged not eligible for intensive chemotherapy
- Have lab test results that meet the study’s protocol requirements (blood counts, liver/kidney function, etc.)
- If you can become pregnant: use reliable birth control; avoid pregnancy during the study and for about 90 days after the last dose (and for partners as instructed)
- Avoid certain recent treatments: no chemo, radiation, targeted therapy, or stem cell transplant within 4 weeks before starting the trial
