Who can take part

  • Your child must be between 0 and 2 years old
  • Your child is being seen for symptoms like seizures without fever, fainting/loss of consciousness, extreme tiredness/malaise, a head injury, or a brain surgery/cranioplasty
  • A blood sample must be taken during the current medical visit
  • You must give permission (informed consent) for your child to join
  • Your child cannot have certain rare metabolic conditions (like Menkes disease) if they are being placed in the abusive head trauma group
