Letrozole after surgery for early uterine leiomyosarcoma
Treatments studied
Part of Cancer, Women’s health & pregnancy clinical trials.
This Phase 2 trial studies whether letrozole can help prevent uterine leiomyosarcoma from coming back after surgery. It focuses on people whose tumor shows estrogen receptor positivity.

Who can take part
- You (or your legal representative) sign consent and allow sharing of medical information.
- Your uterine leiomyosarcoma diagnosis is confirmed by pathology, and it was limited to the uterus (Stage I).
- Your tumor must test positive for estrogen receptor (ER positive) with ER staining over 10%.
- You had your uterus removed (hysterectomy) plus both ovaries and fallopian tubes removed within 12 weeks.
- You should have no measurable disease on scans/tests within 6 weeks (no tumors large enough to measure).
- You can swallow pills, are age 18 or older, and your overall health/lab results are strong enough (blood counts, liver/kidney tests).

This trial is testing a combination of two chemotherapy drugs (doxorubicin and trabectedin) given after surgery to prevent uterine leiomyosarcoma from coming back. The goal is to see if this treatment improves outcomes for patients with high-risk disease that has not spread.
This trial tests whether chemotherapy after surgery can help prevent uterine leiomyosarcoma from coming back in patients who are at high risk based on a genetic test of their tumor. It is for women with early-stage cancer (stage I) who have had complete surgery.
This trial tests whether taking letrozole before surgery can help shrink tumors in postmenopausal women with a specific type of early-stage breast cancer that is hormone-receptor-positive, HER2-negative, and has spread to lymph nodes.
This trial tests if the drug letrozole can improve symptoms like heavy bleeding and pelvic pain caused by uterine fibroids. You must be premenopausal with moderate to severe symptoms and not have very large fibroids or certain other conditions.
This Phase 2 trial studies how well gemcitabine or trabectedin works for people with leiomyosarcoma that cannot be fully removed or has spread. It’s for tumors that have grown or worsened despite prior standard chemotherapy.
This study tests whether taking letrozole after laparoscopic ovarian cyst surgery can lower the chance that an endometrioma (a type of ovarian endometriosis cyst) comes back. It may help some people reduce recurrence after the cyst is removed.
