Who can take part
- You speak English as your main language
- Your thinking (cognitive) and language skills are within the typical range
- You can safely have an MRI (no metal in or near your body that can’t be removed)
- If you stutter: your stuttering started in childhood and isn’t due to another communication problem
- If you don’t stutter: no close family history of stuttering and no other communication, hearing, or language problems
- You’re not pregnant (or possibly pregnant) and you’re able to stay still in the scanner (not severely claustrophobic)
