Test continuing somatostatin shots after tumor progression in GEP NET

Gastroenteropancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor

This trial studies whether it’s helpful to keep taking somatostatin “analog” injections even after your neuroendocrine tumor has started growing despite the usual dose. It also looks at how the next treatment choice (targeted pills or PRRT) fits in for people with non-functional, well-differentiated GEP NET.

Who can take part

  • Be age 18 or older
  • Sign consent and be well enough to do daily activities (ECOG 0–2)
  • Have a confirmed diagnosis of non-functional, well-differentiated grade 1–2 GI/“GEP” neuroendocrine tumor
  • Show imaging proof that your tumor grew while on first-line somatostatin shots at the labeled dose or higher
  • Have not had prior everolimus, sunitinib, or PRRT (radiolabeled therapy)
  • Be able to start either second-line targeted therapy (sunitinib or everolimus) or PRRT with 177Lu oxodotreotide, as decided by the study doctor
